Granny's Last Dollar —
A Souvenir of the Economic Downturn of 2009
© 2009 by Katherine Knauer
Granny's Last Dollar is an edition of 100 hand-embroidered and beaded dollar bills. Each bill is accompanied by a signed and numbered document.
"People express their concerns in many ways, and I have always found my voice in the textile arts. Hand sewing is a meditative process that allows me the time to reflect on a topic - a "poor man’s therapy". Humor and traditional textile traditions combine in my work and Granny's Last Dollar updates the traditional granny square afghan process to reflect the current economic climate."
Granny's Last Dollar is available for sale through this site for $50 ($47.50 + $2.50 shipping and handling).
